Maya del Sol, 144 S. Oak Park Ave., has introduced “Maya To Go” and reopened May 21 to offer food and cocktails for contact-free curbside pickup. They are offering a robust menu including their popular ropa vieja, wagu burger and mango braised beef nachos as well as margaritas and sangria by the quart.
In addition to maintaining strict kitchen sanitation procedures, Maya has introduced additional COVID-19 related safety measures to protect staff and patrons when ordering and picking up from the establishment. Details on safety protocols, hours of operation and ordering instructions can be found on Maya’s website.
Additionally, customers should keep an eye on Maya’s patio. On May 20, Gov. J. B. Pritzker announced, as part of phase three of Reopen Illinois, it is probable restaurants will be allowed to reopen for patio seating as soon as May 29. Maya is not currently taking patio reservations but will update their website as plans for outdoor dining become clear in the coming days.
“I anticipate Oak Park will follow the governor’s order. We can be tighter on regulations but not looser,” said Mayor Anan Abu Taleb and Maya del Sol stakeholder, “Having a good working relationship with the state is important to us. There will be a meeting of the village board on Tuesday to discuss all of these issues.”
