Oak Park Public Health Director Mike Charley announced April 21 that two more residents have died likely from COVID-19, bringing number of virus-related deaths in Oak to six. The two fatalities were two men, one in his 60s and one in his 80s. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the final cause of death for both men.

Charley also reported that five more residents tested positive for COVID-19. The individuals in those cases range in age from their 30s to their 60s. The total number of COVID-19 cases 19 in Oak Park is 136.

The village cannot release further information regarding any of the cases due to privacy laws.

According to the announcement, “Anyone who has had close, direct contact with any individual who tests positive for COVID-19 is notified by the local public health authority as part of standard patient contact tracing procedures.”
