The Park District of Oak Park has partnered with the Animal Care League of Oak Park to host the 3rd annual Yappy Hour at Cheney Mansion on May 29th from 6:30-9pm. The duo of community minded organizations look forward to creating an evening where dogs are part of the fun.
“The Park District was looking for ways to increase their dog related programs and we were looking for ways to improve our events so it was a perfect match,” says Animal Care League Executive Director, Kira Robson.
Yappy Hour invites friendly pups and their human companions to take over the impressive grounds at Cheney Mansion. 6 Mutts Chicago will be on hand to provide dog-friendly cocktails and cookies, while the Park District is busy organizing drinks and appetizers for their human guests. More than 100 people are expected to attend Yappy Hour where dogs can enjoy a massage or check in with a valet while their owners take an interior tour of Cheney Manion. Additionally, adoptable dogs will be mingling in the crowd at Yappy Hour; staff memebers at The Animal Care League are hoping someone in the crowd will fall madly in love with them.
Ten dollars of every ticket sold to this feel good event goes right back to the dogs at the Animal Care League. Needy pups will also benefit from a silent auction that includes prizes like a 4 pack of passes to the Uncorck Illinois Wine Festival, 2 guided Frank Lloyd Wright tour passes, a one month yoga class pass to Ahimsa Yoga Studio, and more.
“Yappy Hour is a really nice way to kick-off summer; ” says Robson “it’s a fun social event you can share with your dog!”
