If you want to rub elbows with more nonagenarians, we received this recommendation from Oak Parker Joanne Selden:

“I was delighted to view the artwork produced by the Friday Art Class at the Oak Park Arms on the theme ‘If Trees Could Speak,’ a fitting theme for Oak Park, which is deemed an arboretum due to the variety of trees in the village. The class, under the direction of well-known artist Nancy Fong, has created inspired landscapes on this theme.  The exhibit can be seen in the Narrow Gallery through May 10. Nancy Fong is also exhibiting paintings, one of which is a tender portrait of childhood friendship. This exhibit is truly an uplifting experience and made my day.”

The Arms has a surprisingly fine array of fine arts programming. Check out their marquee at the corner of Oak Park Avenue and Washington Boulevard for musical performances.
