One of Oak Park’s great, unique treasures is a century old: The Economy Shop. It combined thrift, recycling and charity into a powerful and positive force in our village. Since 1919 it has drawn donations of clothing, dishes, toys, electronics, you name it, into 16 rooms of local philanthropic giving, all tucked into an old house at South Boulevard and Grove. This is a place of generosity and friendship, discovery and delight.

Happy anniversary.
