Open letter to Oak Park Board of Trustees:

I see that Oak Parkers are calling for better lighting to reduce crime. While I think that’s a good idea, I think we need to do it carefully, and strive to reduce light pollution, which has negative effects on stargazing, wildlife, and harms views from our residences. When taking action on improving lighting, please choose lighting fixtures that reduce light pollution.
