Absences at District 97 elementary schools were “higher than normal” on the Monday preceding Election Day on April 4, according to district officials, who attributed the absences to families that may have extended their spring break by a few more days.

Numerous Oak Park schools, including Beye, Brooks, Julian and Longfellow, function as polling places on Election Day and were closed to students that day.
