Anne Frank

“In spite of everything,” Anne Frank once famously, and hauntingly, wrote, “I still believe that people really are good at heart.”

During last Sunday’s icky presidential debate, Hillary Clinton channeled Frank’s sense of optimism when she said, “We are great because we are good, and we will respect each other.”

Trump, meanwhile, inverted that sense of optimism when he said of the Democratic presidential nominee that she has “hate in her heart.”

How’s that for irony?

Anyway, the OPRF Performing Arts Department’s production of The Diary of Anne Frank promises to do Frank’s words actual justice — not of the ‘Lock her up!’ variety — during four performances this month, all inside the school’s Little Theatre.

The first two performances will take place this week on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14 and 15, both at 7 p.m. The next two will take place on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21 and 22, both at 7 p.m.
