Just came back from the library after a “community forum” from our mayor/manager (honestly don’t know what his title is) only to look at my husband and say, “Why didn’t you go with me? You’re the fact guy. You know I get emotionally charged and bumble my words. You’re my touchstone when it comes to verifying the roots of my irritation.”

He looked at me and said, “All you needed to do is ask ‘Why?'”

Why do we need this influx of density and tax revenue — undercompensated pensions? IDOT? Why? Tell us why. But I think my biggest question is why do the people who run this village feel that mundane political rhetoric is an appropriate answer to the question “Why?”
