Oak Parker’s have been enjoying craft beers and burgers at the recently opened Oak Park Brewing Company and Hamburger Mary’s, 155 S. Oak Park Ave., and now with the weather finally warming up, they can enjoy them al fresco.

But the new outdoor seating area is something new, at least to those of us next door at Wednesday Journal. The barrier defining the seating area is made of wooden pallets – like the kind you’d see propping up boxes in a warehouse.

We know from speaking to the folks at Hamburger Mary’s of their dedication to adaptive reuse. Notice some of the tables are made from old wine barrels and such, but wooden pallets on the sidewalk?

What do you think Oak Parkers? Good for the environment or bad for aesthetics? We’re interested to hear what you think.
