A survey has been created by the University of Chicago called the “5 Essentials.” This survey helps predict school success by measuring these five essentials:
- Effective Leaders
- Collaborative teachers
- Involved families
- Supportive environment
- Ambitious instruction
I have asked the Journal to publish results of this survey for Oak Park and River Forest High School. They have not. I guess this is news they feel the community does not care about even though a great many residents have moved here for the schools.
Well, I am not going to reveal these results. However, if anyone would like to see them, just log in to the website 5Essentials and you will be able to find them.
I found the results surprising and disturbing. Take a look for yourselves if you care about the schools you are sending your children to. Am I missing something here?
