Sorry to those against the Ike wall. Do state Senator Harmon or Mayor Anan Abu-Taleb live as close to the Ike as we do? Not likely. Yes, we bought our house and the Ike was already there, but in the 40 years we have lived here, the noise has gotten worse. In fact it is awful and will only get more intolerable with a fourth lane and a higher ramp.

The Ike is indeed a scar on the community but it is already there. Give some relief to those who live near. Several neighbors we know in fact are struggling to sell their homes because of the noise. For those who live elsewhere in the village, the wall may be an occasional displeasure to the eye but you do not live with the noise 24/7. Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
