Joseph A. Geoghegan Jr., or “Duke” as he is affectionately known among family and friends, is an Oak Park resident, an architect and Principal at RGLA Solutions, Inc., resident of Robert G. Lyon & Associates. He is also the loving husband of Joan and father of Marissa, Maureen and Patrick, and now grandparent to a beautiful baby girl. Beyond their loving commitment to family and friends, Joe and Joan have given more than two decades of their lives to UCP Seguin and people with disabilities.

Joe served on the organization’s Board for ten years, many years as Vice President and other leadership roles. Joe’s firm donated design plans for Seguin Auto Center, where people with disabilities are employed in the sale of donated autos as well as car-washing and detailing. Joe provided significant oversight of new group homes, ensuring they were safe and accessible for residents with disabilities, and produced architectural plans for major capital renovations to UCP Seguin’s Carr Center.

Joe and Joan have made significant financial contributions to UCP Seguin, while remaining steadfast advocates for the UCP Seguin cause. Even after departing the Board in 2004, Joe has continued his donation of time, talent, and treasure to UCP Seguin, with Joan an equally generous partner.

In 2004 Joe was honored with UCP Seguin’s highest honor – the naming of a group home in Oak Park, known forevermore as “The Geoghegan House.” Joe, Joan and their family have provided annual holiday gifts to the gentlemen residing in the Geoghegan House. The Geoghegans are true exemplars of the spirit of philanthropy…and for this UCP Seguin and the people with disabilities are especially grateful.

Like the Geoghegans, you too can make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities. Donate online at www.ucpseguin.org or send gifts to UCP Seguin, 332 Harrison Street, Oak Park IL 60304
