Genevieve Bangs Schwartz, 91, died peacefully in Oak Park on Oct. 12, 2015. Born on May 15, 1924 on a homesteaded farm in north-central Montana, she became a surgical nurse at the University of Utah where she met Ted Schwartz, MD. They were married in 1948, had six sons together, and remained married for 60 years until Ted’s death in 2008. They lived in Evanston for most of those years. She had many diverse friends and interests and became involved as a volunteer in various local and national causes.
She was loved by many and will be remembered as a loving, kind and delightful spirit.
Gen Schwartz is survived by her sons, Dick, Steven, Michael, David, Jon and Tom; their wives; and her 17 grandchildren.
