Write-in finishes 4th in D90 race
The official results from the April 7 election are in.
And as it turns out Lori Coplan didn’t come in fifth of five candidates who wanted to become members of the River Forest Elementary School District 90 Board of Education.
Coplan, a licensed clinical social worker who announced in February she was a write-in candidate, got 381 votes, or 7.76 percent of the total.
Even though she suspended her campaign, Harley Beck still garnered 333, or 6.78 percent of the vote.
In the River Forest village trustees’ race, the margin between the third-place winner, incumbent Trustee Carmela Corsini, and newcomer Patty Henek narrowed to 20 votes. Corsini got 977 votes (17.58 percent), while Henek got 957 votes (17.22 percent).
In all, 2,102 ballots were cast in River Forest, where turnout was just a shade under 28 percent, according to the Cook County Clerk.
