Oak Park resident reports being robbed at gunpoint

An Oak Park resident told police he was robbed at gunpoint by two teenagers while walking in the 400 block of North Lombard Avenue on April 21 between 6:20 and 6:30 p.m. Police did not include the age or sex of the victim in information it provided to the press.

Two attackers, estimated to be 15 to 16 years old, approached an Oak Park resident on the 400 block of North Lombard Avenue and initiated a conversation. One of the teens implied that he had a weapon and demanded the victim’s money and cell phone and then fled the area, according to Oak Park police. The loss is estimated at $140. 

Both offenders were described as black males about 5 feet, 5 inches tall. The first had a thin build and black hair and wore a red sweatshirt, black pants and a red and black baseball hat. The second offender had a thin build with black and blonde hair and wore light clothes.

 Woman groped

Oak Park police report that a Chicago woman was groped while walking in the 300 block of South Boulevard, when an approximately 30-year-old black male, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 195 pounds and wearing glasses, a gray jacket, a gray T-shirt and light black jeans touched her buttocks as he walked past her from behind. 

The incident occurred at 12:40 p.m. on April 16.

 Burglary to a vehicle

Four men, estimated to be in their 20s, broke into a 2013 Chevy Malibu in the 900 block of South Maple Avenue and stole $10 in spare change. The incident occurred at 12:42 a.m. on April 21.

A vehicle was burglarized in the 1100 block of Clinton between 4:30 p.m. on April 20 and 12:32 a.m. on April 21, according to Oak Park police. The offender gained access to the vehicle through an unlocked door and stole a brown leather bag valued at $30. 

Two other vehicles and a residential garage also were ransacked during the same time period in between the 900 and 1100 blocks of Clinton. No losses were reported at the other locations.

Residential burglary

A residence in the 100 block of Thomas Street was burglarized on April 20, between 6 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., according to Oak Park police. The offender kicked in the victim’s rear door and stole jewelry and a plastic bag full of coins valued at a $1,900, according to Oak Park police.

A residence in the 600 block of South Boulevard was burglarized on April 21, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The offender possibly gained entry to the residence through an unlocked window and stole a Playstation 3 video game system and various video games valued at $450, according to Oak Park police.

 Theft

Thieves gained entry to the storage closet of an Oak Park residence in the 600 block of South Boulevard sometime between 3 p.m. on April 10 and 3 p.m. on April 19, according to Oak Park police. The offender stole shoes, watches and cologne valued at $4,100.
