LaMoyne C. Blair (nee Cowan), 89, a resident of Oak Park since 1961, died peacefully surrounded be her family on March 20, 2015 at Loyola Medical Center after a short illness. Born on April 18, 1925 in Prairie Green Township, Iroquois County to the late Joseph and Ruth Cowan, she attended Hoopeston High School and graduated from Children’s Hospital Nursing School in Denver, Colorado and received her B.A. in Science, Nursing from the University of Denver.
She was a member of the 19th Century Club, George Rogers Clark D.A.R. of Oak Park, PEO, and the Woman’s Auxiliary of the Chicago Medical Society. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to many countries both for pleasure and medical meetings, including Japan, Iceland, the U.K., Europe and the Middle East.
LaMoyne Blair is survived by her husband, Sidney J. Blair, M.D.; her children Brian (Cathy) Blair and David (Marcia) Blair, R.Ph.; her grandchildren, Brandon and Shawn (Kristen) Blair and Eryn and Hannah Blair; her great-grandchildren, Liam and Addison; and her sister, Lyle (Jean) Cowan, M.D. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leland (the late Ruth Ann and the late Beverly) Cowan.
