Raymond A. Patzelt, 88, of River Forest, died on March 3, 2015. Born in Chicago on March 16, 1926, the son of Joseph and Ethel Jovien Patzelt, he married Grace Wollenberg Patzelt on Sept. 19, 1953. He graduated from Burnham Elementary School and Morton High School, both in Cicero. In 1991, he retired as a school maintenance engineer from River Forest School District 90.
Mr. Patzelt is survived by his wife, Grace R. Wollenberg Patzelt; his children, Ruth (Dr. Stephen) Soppet, Grace (the late Gregory) Pickett, Joyce (William) Liggett, David (Jennifer) Patzelt and Margaret (Frank) Senese; his grandchildren, Rachel (Peter) Soppet Allport, Sarah (Mathew) Soppet Ricks, Aaron, Brian Kyle and Ariel Liggett, Eric, Christopher and Katharine Patzelt, and Natalie and Sofia Senese; his great-grandchildren, Henry and Scarlett Allport, and Bowen Ricks. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Patzelt and his son-in-law, Gregory Pickett.
Visitation was held March 6 at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass on March 7 at St. Luke Church in River Forest. Interment was private.
