In the Vizzone family, retail clothing is a tradition — and that tradition will be returning to Oak Park in March at the former location of Bramble at 115 N. Oak Park Ave.
Terri Vizzone said her new women’s clothing store, Only She, is expected to open March 1. Vizzone is the sister of Ken Vizzone, former co-owner of the high-end clothing store Spauldings, which opened at 106 Marion St. as a hat shop in 1936. Spauldings closed in 2006.
Vizzone is the owner of Urban Style Emporium, a European clothing store at 200 E. Delaware Place in downtown Chicago. That store, too, is relocating, just down the street to 1 E. Delaware Place, also with a planned March 1 opening date, Vizzone said.
Only She will carry women’s clothing and accessories, including some European lines, but not too expensive, she said.
“We will carry more everyday clothing. Oak Park is so kicked back, and that’s the vibe I want to go with there.”
Bramble, a boutique gift and home décor store at the location, closed earlier this year.
Vizzone said she moved to Oak Park in September and her brother Ken helped her find the location for her new store.
“It was love at first sight for me,” she said in a prepared statement. “I am thrilled to be not only living here but perhaps bringing some new energy to the block.”
In addition to her and her brother’s history in clothing retail, Vizzone said her father, Anthony Frank Vizzone, worked for 50 years in the business, at one point partnering with another clothing retailer on Michigan Avenue downtown.
“I come from a clothing family; it’s in the blood,” she said.
She noted that her current clothing store, Urban Style Emporium, was previously named Only She, but she rebranded about five years ago.
Vizzone said she aims to have a laidback feel for the 1,400-square-foot store, noting, “I want it to be an inviting place. That’s what Oak Park means to me, and I want that reflected in the space. I want it to be about community.”
