Remember the U.S. soldiers whose lives were lost in Afghanistan between Oct. 1 and Dec. 3.

Jonathan Walker, 44; Christopher Kalafut, 49; Michael Cathcart, 24; Wardell Turner, 48; Joseph Riley, 27; Matthew Ammerman, 29

Remember their families and the families of all soldiers lost or injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Also remember the civilians lost in the violence of current conflicts around the world.

In the city of Chicago, the following people were killed by violence, Dec. 5-11:  

Cedric Goodwin, mid-20s; Mutahir Rauf, 23; Guvonni Johnson, 25; Guillermo Ocampo, 19; Leonardo Matias, 21; Unknown man, early-40s

Please keep their families and others touched by violence in your thoughts and prayers — including the perpetrators, whose lives are also impacted by their acts of violence.

Remember the 48 immigrant detainees at the McHenry County Jail this week. They are from Belize, Brazil, El Salvador, Honduras, Jamaica, Kenya, Liberia, Mexico, Poland, Russia, and Sierra Leone.
