I am an Oak Park resident and an employee of school District 97. I would like to share a story about a group of wonderful women who go above and beyond to help others in need.
Last week I had $510 stolen from me, which was to be used for my mortgage payment. It was disheartening, but I let it go, thinking the money is gone. I mentioned it to a co-worker, Arlene O’Meara, in passing and didn’t think anything of it. Arlene then mentioned it to a couple more co-workers without my knowledge.
On Tuesday, Nov. 25, these wonderful colleagues presented me with a check to cover my loss. I was so touched by their sentiment that I was brought to tears of joy and happiness.
To know that these co-workers took money out of their own pockets was a true act of love, caring and giving. They truly are my guardian angels and our community should know how wonderful they are. Here are their names:
Arlene O’Meara
Sherri Primak
Mary Pat Eraci-Sullivan
Angela White
Nanette Egeberg
These women are heroes to me. I will be thankful to them always.
