Just in time for the holidays, for the entire month of December, Burger Boss is offering a special burger designed to please your taste buds as well as your charitable urges. The local restaurant teamed up with Food Network star and Sandwich King Jeff Mauro to create a signature burger, the Mauro Melt. During the month of December, Burger Boss plans to donate a portion of each Mauro Melt sale to the Hephzibah Children’s Association.
“We are donating $1.50 per burger (22.5%) and Jeff Mauro and Angelo Sisco are matching it for a total of $4.50 per sandwich,” Burger Boss owner Anthony Gambino said.
A Chicago native, Mauro knows what diners in the city want to eat, and with their desires in mind, he hand-selected the ingredients of his signature burger to provide a satisfying winter treat. The Mauro Melt consists of a fresh pumpernickel bun encompassing two Angus beef patties, topped with grilled onions, flash-fried crispy cherry peppers, melted American cheese, and the restaurant’s signature Boss Sauce.
Gambino notes that for the dining public, this is a real opportunity. “The public has never been able to taste Jeff’s food in all the years he’s been doing the show, so this is a great chance to try a signature burger.”
Burger Boss will donate a portion of each Mauro Melt sold to Hepzibah, the Oak Park-based charity that has provided housing and educational services to abused and neglected children since 1897. In the seasonal spirit of giving, Jeff Mauro and friend Angelo Sisco of O’Hare’s Crossfit studio will match the profits made from the Mauro Melt, doubling the benefit to Hepzibah.
The burger will launch on December 1st, at both the Elmwood Park and Southport locations of Burger Boss. This double taste sensation is available for only $6.69 during the month of December, and as an added enticement, Burger Boss will also be offering seasonal Peppermint Shakes for only $3.60.
Diners are encouraged to share their love of the Mauro Melt and connect with Jeff Mauro (@JeffMauro) and Burger Boss (@TheBurgerBoss) on Twitter and Instagram to share their Mauro Melt experiences.
