Patricia Medin, a 25-year resident of Oak Park, died on Sept. 13, 2014 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. In 1995, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Concordia University. Dedicated to being kind and compassionate to each patient, she had a special place in her heart for the elderly, and touched each patient she cared for with warmth, joy and hope.
She enjoyed oil painting, and her painting lessons with her special friend and art teacher, sharing stories, travel and the outdoors, especially flowers and trees. She was passionate about her love for her partner, her children and her friends.
Patricia Medin is survived by Gail Zarbin, her partner of 28 years; their daughters, Danielle and Jorie; her daughters, Erica and Kimberly Medin; and her two grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20, from noon until 2 p.m., followed by a memorial service at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St. in Oak Park.
Donations to Half the Sky, www.halfthesky.org, in Patricia’s memory would be most meaningful.
