Almost like magic. Almost. Volunteers will be gathering on Friday, Sept. 19 for a one-day build of the new Oak Park-River Forest Day Nursery playground. And since many hands make like work, they’re inviting any and everyone to join in (instruction will be provided). The Day Nursery applied for and received a wonderful grant from a nonprofit company called KaBoom. They build playgrounds in a single day with the help of many volunteers.
Day Nursery’s partner for this project is Discover Financial Services, which will be bringing around 200 volunteers. Day Nursery is trying to recruit another 100.
Build day is Friday, Sept. 19, from 8:30 till 3 p.m. They also need people for prep days, Wednesday the 17th and Thursday the 18th.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
