Marion Street Cheese Market is getting a new menu, a new name and a new partner in the business.
Chicago chef Steve Chiappetti is joining the renamed Marion Street Market, 100 S. Marion St., as chef and partner and will bring a new line of comfort foods to the menu, according to a news release from the business.
Chiappetti has opened a number of Chicagoland restaurants such as Mango, an American bistro; Grapes, a Mediterranean café; and Rhapsody a three-star contemporary American bistro, according to the chef’s website.
Marion Street says Chiappetti “has cooking in his blood,” noting that his family has run one of the oldest slaughter and packinghouses, Chiappetti Lamb and Veal, in the city. After 51 years in business, the Chiappetti Lamb and Veal is the last remaining slaughterhouse in the Chicago stockyards.
