The answer at the Lake Theatre is, happily, yes. Mark Mazrimas, marketing director at Classic Cinemas, The Lake’s parent company, reports that Oak Parker Steve James’ documentary, Life Itself, based on Roger Ebert’s same-named autobiography, will come to The Lake on Wednesday, Sept. 17 for two showings (1 and 7 p.m.). Mazrimas says they’re hoping to have James on hand for a Q&A following both showings.

In addition, the next First Tuesday Club showing (Sept. 2 at noon and 7 p.m.) will feature Finding Vivian Maier, the doc about the nanny/untutored photographic genius who took breathtaking street photos in Chicago. Her work was discovered by chance at an estate sale.
