A new contract with Warner Bros. Television secures $1 million per episode of “The Big Bang Theory” for Oak Park native Johnny Galecki, and two other cast members, for the next three years.

The New York Times reported Wednesday that Galecki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting will make about $1 million each for every episode of “The Big Bang Theory”.

In addition to a pay raise comparable to that of the “Friends” actors in the early 2000s, the new contract also allows the three actors to “have a larger stake in the series and ownership of the show after its original run on network television,” writes Times reporter Emily Steel.

The show proves worthy of the millions, though. Last season 17.5 million viewers tuned in to the CBS show. “Big Bang” also holds its own in syndication with about nine million viewers per episode on TBS.

The eighth season of “Bang Bang” begins Sept. 22 on CBS.
