April 9 2014, Oak Park, IL: Lovers of vino unite to sample Illinois wine at Downtown Oak Park’s third annual wine festival, Uncork Illinois on Saturday, May 31st from 1-9PM.

With the purchase of a $20 souvenir glass ($15 advance tickets available participants receive seven tastings from local wineries including Alto VineyardsAugust Hill WineryCity WineryCooper’s Hawk WineryFox Creek WineryGlunz Family Winery & CellarsIllinois Sparking CoSleepy Creek VineyardsSpirit Knob Winery,Village VintnerWaterman WineryWild Blossom Meadery & Wyldewood Cellars Winery. Additional tasting tickets may be purchased for $1.00. In addition to tastings, vineyards will sell wines by the glass or bottle.

In addition to wine, the event will showcase locally produced gourmet food items to purchase and taste. While sipping away, Uncork Illinois participants are also encouraged spend a leisurely afternoon dining al fresco at one of Downtown Oak Park’s ethnic eateries or cozy bistros, and shopping the mix of local boutiquesLive jazz selected by WDCB, a local premiere jazz station, will be provided on the WDCB Jazz Stage located at Westgate and Marion Street.

A portion of the event proceeds will go to Prevail, an Oak Park non-profit organization providing emergency assistance and referrals to individuals and families in times of financial crisis and struggle, addressing immediate basic needs and laying the groundwork for future stability.
