River Forest District 90 shared an alert from the Elmwood Park police Monday about a possible child-luring incident. According to the memo from Elmwood Park police, a young girl playing outside in her yard was approached by an unknown man in his early-to-mid 20s wearing a red baseball cap. The man began to question her, asking for her name, whom she lived with, how old she was and her mother’s email address.

The report said the child’s mother saw the man speaking to her daughter and approached him. He reportedly quickly returned to his vehicle, a newer silver colored sedan (possibly a Hyundai Elantra) and sped away.

Police asked anyone with any information about the incident to call the Elmwood Park police at 708-453-2137.
