March 24, 2014 – Oak Park, Illinois. Guy Josif, who escaped the genocide in Darfur as a young boy and made his way from refugee camps to Israel to the United States, shares his story, “My Journey from Darfur to Freedom,” in an effort to educate others about the oppression of his people and the problems that still exist in Darfur today.
Guy is currently a student in the U.S. and is seeking political asylum. On the eve of the Jewish holiday of Passover, Guy will speak about his incredible journey at Oak Park Temple, 1235 N. Harlem Avenue in Oak Park, Illinois, on Sunday, April 13, at 10:00. The event is free and open to the public.
