To Benefit: The Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry

At this free workshop, your child will have the opportunity to:
1. Learn about the Oak Park River Forest’s Food Pantry and the work that they do to help those in our community. Michele Zurakowski, the Food Pantry’s Executive Director, will engage participants in thoughtful conversation following a short presentation.
2. Illustrate a beautiful garden bursting with your child’s favorite fruits and veggies, to highlight the importance of fresh produce in our diets. Artworks will be exhibited at one or more local Oak Park establishments, including Red Hen Bakery, and auctioned for a monetary donation to the pantry.
3. Create your own Pledge Placemat! Draw and decorate a placemat to take home to your family, showcasing a well-balanced meal and bright ideas to “feed the community”.
4. Assemble creativity kits that will delightfully spark the imagination of children at the pantry while parents/guardians shop for food.
Donations to the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry are most welcome!
Currently the Food Pantry is in need of diapers and toiletries. Workshop participants are encouraged to bring these items to the workshop for our Food Pantry collection bin.
