Michael Madock, 57, a lifelong resident of River Forest and Fontana, Wis., died at his home in River Forest on Dec. 10. Raised in River Forest, he attended St. Luke School, Oak Park and River Forest High School and Southern Illinois University. He was an inventor, artist, small-business entrepreneur, lifelong runner and held a first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine “Katie” O’Brien Madock; his children, Courtland (Timothy) Dietrich, Michael, and Andrew Madock; his brothers and sisters, Richard (Jeanette), Daniel (Carol), James (Peter Casey), and Patricia (Clifford) Sage; his in-laws, Michael O’Brien, Thomas O’Brien, Mary O’Brien (Joseph Makowski), William “Bunker” (Therese “Tagger”) O’Brien, Edith (David) Kenneth and the late David (Edie) O’Brien; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Madock.
Services were held at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home in Oak Park.
