Students, faculty and staff were forced to evacuate Oak Park and River Forest High School, Wednesday morning, due to a fire alarm.

“The alarm was caused by a malfunction with the smoke/fire detection system on the third floor of the building,” wrote Principal Nathaniel Rouse in an email to parents.

All students and employees were able to reenter the building after the fire department addressed the issue and gave the all-clear.

“We were fortunate that our Oak Park Fire Department responded quickly and was on the scene within minutes,” wrote Rouse.
