The OPRF High School Hockey Club is partnering with the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry to run a holiday food drive on Saturday, December 7. The goal is to collect as much food as possible to help support families in need during the holiday season.
Residents are asked to place bags of non-perishable items marked “FOOD PANTRY” on their front porches by 9am Saturday morning. Volunteers from the hockey club will pickup donated food and toiletries and deliver them to the food pantry. Items needed at the food pantry right now include canned soups, vegetables, rice, beans, pasta, fruit, peanut butter, tuna, and cereals as well as toothpaste, shampoo, shaving cream and diapers.
The Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry serves nearly 1,300 families per month and tax deductible contributions are also greatly appreciated. Please make checks payable to Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry, 848 Lake St., Oak Park, IL 60301.
