Nov. 13, 2013 –  River Forest Republican Committeeman Thomas C. Cronin welcomes Bruce Rauner, who is running for the Republican nomination for Governor, to Cronin’s annual Republican Rally for west Cook County. The rally begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Good Earth Greenhouse, 7900 West Madison in River Forest. Cronin expects more than one hundred people to come out to meet Rauner. Oak Park Republican Linda Tebensky and her colleagues also will attend.

“We are thrilled to have Bruce Rauner as our guest,” Cronin commented. “Bruce is traveling the state explaining his solutions for the serious problems confronting Illinois. I am proud to provide an opportunity for all interested River Forest and Oak Park folks to hear what Bruce has to say and ask questions.”

In addition to welcoming Rauner, Cronin will also present the Sixth Annual Walsh Service Award to the Honorable Mike Gibbs of River Forest. Gibbs served as a Village Trustee for River Forest for the past four years and has been extraordinarily active in civic affairs for decades.

“The Walsh Award is named for the late great Senator Dick Walsh and his brother John Walsh – both of whom dedicated their lives to community service,” Cronin said. “This year’s recipient, Mike Gibbs, carries on the tradition of service to our local schools and communities. Mike is the consummate volunteer – he is all about helping his neighbors and we are proud to present him with the Walsh Award.”
