Thank you for voting. The winner will be announced in the Oct. 2 issue of the Wednesday Journal.

The Oak Park and River Forest and Fenwick football teams are both off to red-hot 4-0 starts this year. Our community is abuzz with both teams’ gaining momentum towards the goals of winning a conference title and a deep run in the playoffs. Who knows, maybe our teams even bring home a state championship or two!

Last week, the Huskies edged Downers Grove North 16-10 in overtime at Oak Park Stadium in a battle of West Suburban (Silver) Conference heavyweights. After a slow start, Fenwick caught fire in the second half and rolled to a 40-14 victory against visiting Bishop McNamara.

While OPRF head coach John Hoerster and Fenwick head coach Gene Nudo have done a wonderful job making decisions under the head set, we all know players win games. So without further adieu, here’s our Week 4 poll for the Wednesday Journal’s Player of the Week.

Vote for the most dominant Huskie or Friar from last week’s gridiron action!
