Dominican University in River Forest has been ranked in the top 10 of best Catholic colleges in the country by BestColleges.com, a Web database whose aim is to help students and their families make informed decisions about higher education. The site considers acceptance rates, enrollment, test scores, student and faculty surveys, independent research, and ranking systems when evaluating thousands of colleges across the country.

Dominican was ranked ninth out of 48 best Catholic colleges in the country. Other universities in the top 10 were Briar Cliff University (Iowa), Our Lady of the Elms College (Mass.), Alvernia University (Penn.), Manhattan College (N.Y.), Georgian Court University (N.J.), Regis College (Mass.), College of Mount St. Vincent (N.Y.) and College of Saint Benedict (Minn.).
