This summer adults have not gotten any serious films at the Lake Theatre. The films shown are aimed at children, pre-teens, and teens. They are fantasy, comic book, and action films. What about the serious adult films such as Copperhead and Unfinished Song? Why do adults have to go to the suburbs to get these films? It is almost like the management of the Lake Theatre has decided adults do not exist in this town. I thought Oak Park was the most diverse and culturally advanced town in Illinois and one of the most progressive in the nation. You couldn”t tell from this summer”s line-up at the Lake.
Bring back adult (and I do not mean pornographic) and serious adult films at least on one screen.
