The Pleasant District is taking the title of Bike Friendly Business District seriously by challenging all Oak Park businesses to show off their pedal pride. During National Bike to Work Week, Pleasant District is hosting a photo challenge. The winner of the challenge, as determined by Facebook voting, will win a bike friendly gift pack and the official Bike to Work Week Photo Challenge trophy. Contest details, as included below, are available on the Pleasant District website, www.pleasantdistrictoakpark.com.

What? A Bike to Work Week Photo Challenge

During the 2013 National Bike to Work Week, May 13th through 17th, Oak Park businesses are encouraged to participate in a photo challenge hosted by The Pleasant District, a Bike Friendly Business District. Oak Park businesses are invited to submit a picture of employees taking part in National Bike to Work Week. Submitted photos will be posted on the Pleasant District Association Facebook Page the following week. Once posted, friends and fans can vote for their favorite picture by “liking” it. The business whose photo receives the most “likes” by 12:00pm on Friday, May 24th, 2013 will be declared the Bike to Work Week Photo Challenge Winner. The winning business will be given a bike friendly gift pack and, most importantly, the soon-to-be-coveted Bike To Work Week Photo Challenge Trophy.

Photo Submission Requirements:

  • Photo must include at least one bicycle, at least one current employee, and the company’s name and/or logo.
  • Photo must be emailed to info@greenlinewheels.com. Put the name of the company in the subject of the email.
  • If you have a caption suggestion for your photo you may include it in the body of the email.
  • Any and all local businesses are invited to participate! Work from a coffee shop? Just prove you biked there! Work from home? Do a lap around the block!

The Fine Print:

One submission per business, all entries must be received by Friday, May 17th 2013 by 5:00pm. By submitting a photo to this contest, both the photographer and subjects of the photograph grant permission to The Pleasant District Association and Greenline Wheels to use the photo as they deem appropriate.
