A collaborative effort of Oak Park-River Forest High School parent, student and community groups, sponsored by the Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation, will host a District 200 Board of Education Candidate’s forum at the high school.
All candidates have been invited to participate in this public forum. The April 9th consolidated election, which includes Oak Park and River Forest High School District 200’s Board of Education, will fill four vacant slots on the OPRFHS Board. All parent groups affiliated with OPRFHS have joined with the Student Council and the Community Foundation to host the forum. The public is encouraged to attend and participate. This will be an excellent opportunity to hear from all candidates on their vision for OPRFHS and collect candidate platform information.
The public will have an opportunity to hear questions from the community. Issues to be covered by the parent, student and community groups will include: teen drug and alcohol use, the achievement/expectation gap, best practices initiative for consistent curriculum, supporting the performing arts, athletics, diversity & inclusion and others.
Student, parent and community groups alike express their enthusiasm over this collaborative effort.
