As a resident of Oak Park and a dog owner who has paid the fees to use Dog Park Plus, let me note that the Park District of Oak Park has the email addresses of all such registered dog owners on file. None of us were notified about any meetings, plans to remove the sled hill, plans to put in plastic grass, and plans to discontinue Dog Park Plus.

Their action is a unilateral cancellation without notice of the verbal contract established years ago with owners that we thought they would honor. The organized sports leagues, represented on the board in a clear conflict of interest by board President Christine Graves and Paul Aeschleman, were all, no doubt, notified and, no doubt, attended “planning” meetings. Anyone saying we were told and/or we attended meetings is playing with the actual facts.
