See a recap from Tuesday night’s River Forest candidate forum here.
The April 9 election is just a month away and the candidates running for village president in both Oak Park and River Forest are ready to square off.
Wednesday Journal will host roundtable conversations next week with John Hedges and Anan Abu-Taleb, the candidates running for Oak Park village president, and Michael Gibbs and Cathy Adduci, the River Forest candidates.
The River Forest event will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 12 at the River Forest Public Library, 735 Lathrop Ave. The following evening at 7 p.m., the Journal will be joined by Abu-Taleb and Hedges at the Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake St.
Those who can’t make the Oak Park event can follow it on OakPark.com, where a live blog of the conversations will be available. Anyone with a topic they’d like covered can email Editor Dan Haley, who will moderate the roundtables, dhaley@wjinc.com.
Buzz Café, 905 S. Lombard Ave. has also been hosting candidate forum nights. River Forest village board candidates were at the café last week, but Oak Park presidential candidates will be available on Thursday, March 14, from 7-9 p.m. for a brief presentation, followed by time for questions.
Candidates for the OPRF High School board will be there from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, March 7; River Forest District 90 school board candidates will present on Thursday, March 21. Oak Park library board candidates will be at the café a week later on April 4.
