The OPRF wrestling team had no trouble securing the Class 3A York Individual Regional title in Elmhurst on Saturday. The Huskies grappled to first place with 275.5 points, while Glenbard East came in a distant second with 165.5.

OPRF captured 11 division titles out of the 14 weight classes, including weights 106 through 160. Bobby Campos (106), Gabe Townsell (113), Matthew Rundell (120), Isaiah White (126), Larry Early (132), Jake O’Mara (138), Johnny Gahagan (145), Kamal Bey (152), and Davonte Mahomes (160) all won their respective weight divisions. Joe Ariola pushed his undefeated streak to 39-0 with a 15-9 decision over Willowbrook’s Jake Kroeger. Andre Lee also won at 195 pounds for the Huskies, while freshman Allan Stallings finished second at 170 and sophomore Adam Lemke-Bell took third at 285.

The wrestlers move on to compete in the Maine East Sectional on Friday and Saturday. The top four finishers in each weight will advance to the Class 3A State Tournament in Champaign.
