Santa to make appearance in Oak Park
Anyone who wants to check if they’ve made it on the nice list this year is invited to be on hand when Santa rides into Oak Park on a fire truck.
Starting at 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 23, in the Avenue Business District in front of Scoville Square, Santa will deliver his hometown greeting and “magically” light the Christmas tree and The Avenue gaslight poles.
There will also be a display and information on this year’s selected fundraiser for the Oak Park-River Forest Day Nursery Centennial Birthday.
Afterward, there will be opportunities for photos with Santa while guests enjoy songs and treats. He will then be escorted down The Avenue to local stores and restaurants to welcome shoppers.
“Saturdays with Santa” will be held every weekend, 12-4 p.m., starting Nov. 24 and running through Dec. 22. “Music in Scoville” will be held from 4-5 p.m. every Saturday. The Magical Scoville Square event, where it snows indoors, takes place on Dec. 8.
