The village is looking for volunteers to join Oak Park’s recently created Civic Information Systems Commission. The commission, one of Oak Park’s 18 citizen advisory boards, is tasked with advising the village board on technology and communications issues.

The commission is currently working with the village’s communications and technology staff on projects such as the redesign of the village’s website, Oak-Park.us, and getting more government records digitized.

Members of the commission serve a three year term and the commission meets the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at Village Hall, 123 Madison St. Information and applications for the commission can be found on the village’s website.

District 97 also announced Friday they are looking for volunteers for a similar group. The Superintendent’s Technology Advisory Committee reviews the district technology initiatives, offers guidance to the school board and staff, and helps in the long-term planning for district technology. More information can be found on District 97’s website or by emailing Chris Jasculca, cjasculca@op97.org.
