You can run it, walk it or rollerblade it, it’s up to you, and it’s for a good cause.

The First Annual Terri’s Race, a 3K run/walk/blade is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 14th. The event benefits the Terri Race Educational Technology Fund.

Race, a longtime supporter and administrator for River Forest Little League and AYSO soccer and technology aide for Dist. 90 in River Forest, died in 2010 after a long battle with leukemia. Race lived in Oak Park or River Forest since the age of 11. Her and her husband Charlie, a former soccer columnist for Wednesday Journal, raised four children in the community.

The race kicks off at Lincoln School in River Forest. Participants are invited to run, walk or rollerblade, Terri’s preferred form of exercise.

Registration is open until Friday, Sept. 28 and costs $20 per participant.
