FitzGerald's has a history of being the spot to watch political coverage. Sandy Lentz celebrates the announcement that Ohio went Obama at FitzGerald's during the 2008 election.File 2008

Last week, Republicans gathered at Bar Louie to watch Mitt Romney at the Republican Convention. This week, supporters of Barack Obama will gather at FitzGerald’s, 6615 W. Roosevelt Road in Berwyn (Clarence and Roosevelt) to watch the president’s convention speech. Festivities begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, with a $5 donation/cover.

The debates (three presidential, one VP) will also be televised at FitzGerald’s in October. And an Oct. 4 fundraiser for the Obama campaign is being planned as well.
