Jeff Mauro visited Jimmy's Place, one of his favorite local spots, in December 2011 to film a segment for "Sandwich King."

Jeff Mauro, the Oak Park and River Forest High School alum who’s been hosting his own show on the Food Network, has another show beginning next month, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Mauro became “The Next Food Network Star” last summer and has since been hosting Sandwich King, where he claims he can make any meal into a sandwich. Starting Sept. 24, Mauro will visit cities for his newest show, $24 in 24, where he attempts to find three meals for $24 or less. The third season of Sandwich King will begin Sept. 9.
