Thomas Francis McGrath III, 68, died on July 15, 2012. Born on Sept. 30, 1943, he was an Oak Park resident for 45 years. After earning his MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Business, he spent most of his career on LaSalle Street in the trust department of several banks.
His true calling, however, was being a provider to his family. He was very active in Ascension Parish, serving as president of the school board and on the Parish Finance Committee as well as participating in numerous parish shows. Friends and family say he had a rare gift of making everyone feel special, and those who knew him, loved him.
Tom McGrath is survived by his wife of 45 years, Peggy (McDonald); his children, Kari (Mike) Stutz, Maggie (David) Testore, and Tom C. (Lee); his grandchildren, Matthew, Anna, Ryan, Audrey, Henry, Quinn, Thomas Miles, and Ben; his sisters, Mary Ruth McGrath, Patricia (Brian) Miller, and Maureen McGrath; and his brother-in-law, nephews and nieces, cousins, and many friends.
Arrangements were handled by Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home.
