The hot weather is a reminder of what global waming would look like. I understand the difference between weather and climate, but what if this summer is the beginning of the end? What if all these scientists are right? What if the average temperature rises 11 degrees by 2100? Too bad for us.
The end won’t be because were conquered by aliens (see Aztecs) or a meteor hitting the planet (see dinosaurs). It will be because the leaders and the led simply couldn’r make the short term sacrifices to save the species. The God of Faith will have long been replaced by The God of Technology, but even He might not have been powerful enough to save mankind.
Laughter will echo through the universe at the homo sapien. A species that could have saved itself, but simply couldn’t muster the will to do so refusing to listen to the advice of its best and brightest citizens.
